Jason Whitson has taught high school choral music in Northeast Tennessee for the last 24 years and has been an adjunct music professor and a director of music for local churches. His choirs have earned superior ratings at regional and state festivals and toured major US cities and Toronto, Canada.
Mr. Whitson is an active American Choral Directors Association and East Tennessee Vocal Association member. Tennessee Music Educators Association and NAfME. He has served on leadership boards for ETVA and TMEA and has held positions in the TN ACDA chapter.
Research interests include sight reading pedagogy, choral masterworks for high school, amateur choirs, and vocal pedagogy.
Mr. Whitson earned his BM in Choral and Instrumental Music Education from East Tennessee State University, his MA Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from Tusculum University, and his MA in Choral Conducting from Lynchburg University.
