College is the journey of a lifetime, and as a college-bound student you want to stay on schedule. By starting to plan and prepare now, you are taking the first steps toward success. The following checklist will help keep you on track.
Junior Year in High School
- Take the ACT or SAT. Send a copy of your scores to our Office of Admissions.
- Visit the King University campus. It’s best to visit when classes are in session so you can get a true feel for life on campus. Sitting in on a class at King University gives you an idea of what we do best here at King!
Senior Year in High School
Fall
- Apply for admission to King University. We encourage you to apply early in your senior year to gain full access to scholarship opportunities when resources are most plentiful.
- Consider retaking the ACT or SAT. Scores can increase as you are more comfortable taking the tests. Send a copy of your scores to our Office of Admissions.
- Apply for scholarships. Apply for off-campus scholarship money. Check with civic organizations. Ask if employers scholarships or matching programs are available for students. High school guidance counselors can provide more information and help you find local scholarships. Plan for deadlines.
January
- Send King University an official copy of your updated high school transcript which includes your seventh semester work.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Submitting the FAFSA form online is the most efficient way to file.
March
- Finish the applications for admission and financial aid if you haven’t already done so. March 1 is the priority deadline for scholarships and financial aid.
- Once you’re accepted, complete all forms and send in your deposit. These forms will be mailed to you in your acceptance kit and will allow you to reserve your room for the fall semester.
April
- Attend an ACCESS King Day to complete the early registration process.
Summer
- Send final transcripts to our Office of Admissions.
- Receive your housing/roommate assignments.
- Receive New Student Orientation schedule of events.
- Student Orientation is a weekend of fun-filled activities designed to help you get to know your fellow King University students.
- Be sure to read the other important mailings you’ll receive to help prepare you for the start of class.
