Students may become members of student government by running for office when announced during the academic year. Or, byindicating interest in being a part of the executive branch of the SGA, perhaps as a appointee to a committee.

3. What does the SGA do?

SGA represents the student body. Through student appointees to University committees, SGA helps ensure that the student voice is heard. The SGA President and Vice President also meet regularly with the University President to discuss matters of interest and concern. SGA also plans and executes a number of student activities and initiatives throughout the year.

4. When are the SGA meetings?

Meeting times and locations are announced each semester.

You may contact any member of the SGA, including the Executive Officers and Senators.

The SGA Senate is composed of representatives of each class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) as well as representatives from each academic school.

Stop by the SGA Office to learn more about the chartering process and pick up the necessary forms.

10. I’ve started a student organization, now what?

Now, you must begin to promote your club. Get the word out and let the students know about the awesome, new student organization that has been started on campus. It is imperative, however, that you apply for budget review, so that you can receive funding. You’ll submit a budget and set up a time to interview with the Executive Treasurer and the Management and Budget Committee.
