Student Engagement

What We Do

The Office of Student Engagement coordinates Community Outreach and New Student Programs including New Student Orientation, First-Year Seminar and Transfer Year Seminar.

Community Outreach

The Office of Student Engagement offers opportunities to participate in community outreach activities that enhance the quality of life for members of the surrounding community while enriching the lives of King University students.

Students may also complete service hours in order to meet the Chapel, Convocation, and Service (CCS) requirement. In order to be approved, the community service should meet the criteria that is outlined under the Chapel, Convocation, and Service Policy section of the Student Handbook.

To become involved in community outreach, students can visit the Office of Student Engagement (Maclellan Hall 17) or email Ashley Albertson.

First-Year Seminar

This course is designed to assist students in making the transition to college by providing them with an introduction to the college and equipping them with skills and strategies for success in the areas of intellectual development, social growth, and vocational accomplishment.

Transfer Year Seminar

This course will focus on academic skills, engagement with campus life, and transitional success; it will also present strategies for overall spiritual and social growth directly related to the transfer student’s experience.
