Admissions Process and Requirements

Wanted:

Dedicated students, collaborators, believers, dreamers, self-starters, community service leaders and students looking to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Each year, King typically enrolls students from more than 35 countries and most states within the U.S. We seek to identify well-rounded applicants who can show the potential to be successful in a rigorous academic environment and also have the desire to actively engage with the campus community.

For most students, there is no fee to apply*, and it’s easy to do — just visit here.

*Applicants for the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing program must submit an application through NursingCAS. NursingCAS requires a $50 application fee. Visit How to Apply – NursingCAS for more information.

Application Requirements

Decisions are based on a variety of factors such as: academic preparation, ACT and/or SAT examinations, extracurricular activities, and essays (if required).

The Application for Admission must include the following:

  1. King University Application for Admission
  2. Official High School transcript, official Home School transcript or official results from the General Equivalency Diploma
  3. OPTIONAL: Scores from either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I) of the College Entrance Examination Board or the American College Testing Program (ACT).

General requirements for admission include graduation from an accredited or recognized high school or secondary institution with a minimum of 17 academic units, distributed as follows:

  1. Four Units of English
  2. Two Units of Algebra (Algebra I & II)
  3. One Unit of Geometry
  4. Two Units of Foreign Language
  5. Two Units from History and the Social Studies
  6. One Unit of Natural Science
  7. Four Units of other academic electives

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed the minimum academic units of coursework.

While there is no deadline for submitting the application, it is strongly recommended that you complete the application as early as possible. Again, there is no fee to submit a King application — just visit here. We will provide an admission decision once all required documents have been received and the application is complete. (If additional information is needed, the Undergraduate Admissions Office will reach out.)

We encourage students to apply even if they do not feel they meet all requirements. King works closely with applicants to offer admission on a conditional basis, as needed. Applicants can receive conditional acceptance and work with a faculty member to assess their educational readiness. Students granted conditional acceptance will be limited to 14 hours of coursework during the first semester in attendance.
