Leadership Licensure Program (LLP) – Coming in 2026!

Master of Education (MEd) in Leadership

  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and a Valid Teaching License with two years of teaching experience.
  • Anyone who desires to be in a Leadership position (assistant principle or principle) in a school which requires an administrator’s license.
  • Online Courses with practicing or retired administrators teaching the courses
  • Built in support for taking and passing the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (Praxis Test for Administrators)
  • Option to take a non-licensure track
  • Master’s degree will lead to an increase in pay
  • Action Research to support the learning for an administrator
  • Experienced mentorship
  • Clinical field experience component where candidates gain administrative and reflective best practice activities

Candidates will:

  • Meet the increasing need for visionary and high-quality administrators
  • Expand their credentials and leadership ability
  • Learn and develop the necessary skills to become a change agent in leading high-quality practices to improve individual and school-wide achievement
  • Learn how successful school leadership can create equitable and positive learning and work environments
  • Develop strategies to undertake a leading role in the development of key community and business partnerships to support the schools they lead

Education Specialist (EdS) in Leadership

  • Candidates should have a master’s degree and a Valid Teaching License with two years of teaching experience.

Who would be interested?

  • Anyone who desires to be in a leadership position (assistant principal or principal) in a school which requires an administrator’s license.
  • Online Courses with practicing or retired administrators teaching the courses

  • Professional assistance and guidance in developing a Research Project which could support a later dissertation study.

*Pending TDOE and SACSCOC approval, King will offer a Master of Education (MEd) in Leadership and Education Specialist (EdS) for those seeking an administrative license or who wish to serve their schools in other leadership positions.
