Leadership Licensure Program (LLP) – Coming in 2026!

Master of Education (MEd) in Leadership
- Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and a Valid Teaching License with two years of teaching experience.
- Anyone who desires to be in a Leadership position (assistant principle or principle) in a school which requires an administrator’s license.
- Online Courses with practicing or retired administrators teaching the courses
- Built in support for taking and passing the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (Praxis Test for Administrators)
- Option to take a non-licensure track
- Master’s degree will lead to an increase in pay
- Action Research to support the learning for an administrator
- Experienced mentorship
- Clinical field experience component where candidates gain administrative and reflective best practice activities
Candidates will:

- Learn and develop the necessary skills to become a change agent in leading high-quality practices to improve individual and school-wide achievement
- Learn how successful school leadership can create equitable and positive learning and work environments

Education Specialist (EdS) in Leadership
- Candidates should have a master’s degree and a Valid Teaching License with two years of teaching experience.
Who would be interested?
- Anyone who desires to be in a leadership position (assistant principal or principal) in a school which requires an administrator’s license.
- Online Courses with practicing or retired administrators teaching the courses
- Built in support for taking and passing the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (Praxis Test for Administrators).
- Option to take a non-licensure track.
- Professional assistance and guidance in developing a Research Project which could support a later dissertation study.

*Pending TDOE and SACSCOC approval, King will offer a Master of Education (MEd) in Leadership and Education Specialist (EdS) for those seeking an administrative license or who wish to serve their schools in other leadership positions.
