Program Information
King University’s online education programs are specially designed for working adults – courses are completed online or online synchronous.
- Undergraduate online synchronous classes are on Monday nights.
- Graduate online synchronous classes are on Thursday nights.
Note:
- For those individuals who intend to pursue teacher licensure and employment: King University’s online education programs meet professional licensure requirements in Virginia and Tennessee.
- For those with an active teaching license who intend to pursue the School Leaders Licensure Assessment: King University’s Instructional Leadership programs meets professional licensure requirements in Virginia and Tennessee and King is actively pursuing licensure requirements in other states.
King University offers the programs below in a fully online format:
A specially designed “2+2” Elementary Education program with K-5 licensure is available fully online. Online Synchronous classes are on Monday nights This program is a great option for students who hold an associate degree or college coursework. King’s program is compatible with both Virginia and Tennessee community college teacher education AA degrees.
The Elementary Education program includes concentrations in Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts. K-5 licensure courses will offer knowledge and practice in lesson planning, literacy, formative and summative assessment, English as a Second Language, teaching methods, and more.
The Elementary Education program is designed with the busy learner in mind. In the program you will:
- Complete the program in as little as 20 months.
- Attend class online or online synchronous right up to the student teaching practicum.
- Online synchronous class meet on Monday nights – log in from home.
- Communicate with an academic advisor every step of the way.
- Complete a 15-week student teaching placement in the final semester.

This program is a great option for students who hold an associate degree or have some college coursework.
