Biography

I am a graduate of Texas A&M University where I received my bachelor’s in Kinesiology and a master’s in Sport Physiology. I have an MBA from East Tennessee State University (2017) and an Ed.D. in Global Sport Leadership (2021). I am a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, the leading organization in my field. I was also a certified personal trainer (CPT) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) certified coach for many years. Right out of college I was a personal trainer in Hawaii for many years before heading to China to teach English. Because of my educational background I have taught classes in organizational behavior, legal issues in sport, strength and conditioning, and exercise physiology. In my last position I worked with a former Olympic Training Site and sport science organization, and I also served as the faculty advisor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I love mentoring students and walking with them in life as they make decisions that will impact their future. My husband is an educator as well working with high schoolers. We both train regularly and share stories of the latest student successes and mishaps. I love any type of gardening and working with plants and serve regularly at my local church.
