Kalyn Whitesides

Officer Kalyn McKinley Whitesides brings a lifelong passion for public safety and service to King University’s Office of Campus Safety and Security. Inspired by her grandfather, a lead detective with the Bristol Virginia Police Department, she earned a degree in Criminal Justice and is grateful for the opportunity to serve the King community.

As Safety and Security Coordinator and an officer, Kalyn is trained in First Aid and Stop the Bleed, serves as a certified CPR instructor through the American Heart Association, and is a member of the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee. She was drawn to King’s faith-based mission and values the opportunity to grow professionally while living out her faith.

Outside of work, Kalyn enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering with Healing Hands in Bristol, and relaxing with her favorite shows. Named after Mount McKinley, she also loves connecting with members of the King community. Whether assisting with campus safety needs or sharing pet photos, Kalyn is always happy to help.
