King University Partners with TimelyCare

August 10, 2023

BRISTOL, Tenn., Aug. 10, 2023 – Thanks to a partnership with TimelyCare, King students returning to campus for the fall ’23 semester have a new, around-the-clock option for medical and emotional support – all with no insurance required, and at no additional cost.

TimelyCare is a virtual provider whose licensed physicians and counselors can evaluate, treat, and discuss a range of common conditions including colds, sinus infections, anxiety, relationship challenges, and more. Once registered, students can reach out 24/7 to schedule appointments and access services from any enabled device.

“We want our students to have multiple options for seeking out the kind of care they need,” said Rob Littleton, Ed.D., vice president for Student Affairs. “In addition to the services already offered by King, such as our on-campus counseling center, this partnership is an investment in their time and well-being. Students will be able to reach out when they need support and participate in appointments wherever they are.”

Littleton noted that in addition to guidance on healthy eating, regular exercise, and stress management, advantages of TimelyCare include convenient scheduling, access to a diverse list of providers, and reduced wait times.

“Physical and mental health issues don’t always present themselves during regular business hours,” Littleton said. “Nearly half of mental health care visits through TimelyCare occur in the evenings or on weekends, and many of those who connect through the service say that they wouldn’t have otherwise sought help if they knew they had to wait. Thankfully, students seeking counseling can typically connect with a TimelyCare provider in five minutes or less.”

Registration for TimelyCare is available to traditional students enrolled during the 2023-24 school year. The service will be expanded to include graduate and online students during 2024-25.
