King Named Military Friendly School

January 28, 2019

BRISTOL, Tenn., Jan. 24, 2019 — King University has earned designation as a 2019-2020 Military Friendly School for providing outstanding service to military members and their families as they pursue a college education.

The designation from VIQTORY, an organization dedicated to connecting the military community to civilian opportunities, evaluates colleges and universities nationwide based on public data and information derived through surveys. Together, these tools provide valuable insight about the quality of service available to veterans on campus, student retention, graduation, job placement rates, financial assistance, and other areas that are critical to college decision making.

“King is proud to welcome veterans and their family members to the campus community and remains committed to helping them adjust to college life,” said Registrar Jessica Swiney. “We’re grateful for all these men and women have contributed to our nation and excited about the many ways they enhance the learning environment at King.”

Swiney said the annual listing of Military Friendly schools is a valuable indicator for veterans, active duty and reserve members of the military, and their family members who are evaluating higher education opportunities. The process also allows King to identify strengths and areas for improvement.

King offers a wide variety of support services to military families, including military transfer credit, tuition assistance, deferred payment plans, and an accelerated learning environment. Now in its 10th year, the Military Friendly School designation was awarded to 766 colleges and universities nationwide.
