Applications Now Open for King University, WIVK 107.7 FM Degree of Success Scholarship

October 15, 2019

Knoxville and WIVK 107.7 FM are offering adults in east Tennessee the opportunity to pursue a degree through the 10th annual Degree of Success Scholarship contest. The contest offers the chance for an adult student to return to college and pursue an undergraduate degree, tuition-free, in several available career paths through King’s Adult Studies and Graduate programs (AGS).

Entrants are asked to submit essays on what they believe is the importance of achieving a degree from King, as well as their dreams and career plans following graduation. Applications for the contest are open through Friday, Nov. 1, and can be submitted at www.wivk.com/2019/09/30/king-university-scholarship-giveaway-2.

“Through this scholarship, we have the opportunity to assist Tennessee residents with returning to college and furthering their career with the advantage of a King degree,” said Kristi Reynolds, assistant vice president of enrollment for King’s AGS programs in Knoxville. “Our programs are specially designed to help adult students maintain a positive balance with study, work and family commitments so that they can complete their studies and advance in their careers.”

The winner will receive the opportunity to attend King’s Knoxville or Morristown campus on a free scholarship that will cover tuition and fees, up to 64 semester credit hours, and earn a degree in business administration, communication, elementary education or healthcare administration. Adult students with an associate’s degree in nursing and an unencumbered Tennessee or compact state registered nursing license with the ability to practice in Tennessee may also pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Participants are encouraged to visit www.wivk.com/2019/09/30/king-university-scholarship-giveaway-2 now through 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, to enter. There is a limit of one entry per person. King and WIVK 107.7 FM will announce the five finalists and reveal the winner of the contest during a live radio remote, open house and a Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, at King’s Hardin Valley Campus, located at 10950 Spring Bluff Way, Knoxville, TN 37932.

“We’re proud to offer this scholarship as a sign of our commitment to give back to the communities where we work, live, and serve, and we look forward to welcoming a new student to our King family and helping them pursue their academic and professional goals,” Reynolds said.
