Many professions and certifications are governed by state and professional regulations. These regulations often dictate specific educational requirements for professional licensure or certification. For this reason, some programs at King University that lead to professional licensure and certification may not meet the educational requirements of all states and territories. King University is committed to transparency to ensure that students are informed about which programs align with the educational standards and requirements of each state so students can make informed decisions.

Attestation: Ensuring Compliance and Awareness
Federal regulation, § 668.14(b)(32) requires all programs offered by institutions of higher education that prepare students for occupations requiring programmatic accreditation or state licensure to meet those requirements in the state where the institution is located. Additionally, for students who are enrolled in distance education programs, the program must meet the requirements for licensure or certification in the state where the student is located at the time of initial enrollment or in the state where a student attests they intend to seek licensure/employment.
If the program does not meet the requirements for licensure or certification in either 1) the state where the student is located; or 2) the state where the student intends to seek employment the student may not enroll in the program.
Do these Student Attestation instructions apply to me?
Attestation is a vital tool to ensure students make informed decisions with full awareness and consent.
These instructions apply if you are:
- A prospective student seeking to enroll in a program that may lead to professional licensure or state certification; and
- Enrolling in a program that does not meet licensure requirements in your current state; and
- You intend to seek licensure and employment in a state where the program does meet licensure requirements.
Why is completing an attestation necessary?
You must complete an attestation to:
- Acknowledge that you have been informed by King University that the program for which you intend to enroll is not designed to meet the educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state where you are located.
- Attest that you intend to seek licensure and employment in a state that meets the educational requirements for licensure and certification.
- Confirm that King University has provided advising and resources related to your pursuit of professional licensure or state certification.
