King to Sponsor Healthcare Conference in Abingdon

BRISTOL, Tenn., May 8, 2019 — A one-day conference that will explore the opioid crisis, mental health treatment, CBD products, and other trends in healthcare will be presented this fall by the King University School of Nursing.

Current Trends in Healthcare: Pharmacology Updates, An Interprofessional Approach will be held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, Virginia, on Oct. 25 from 8 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. Those who attend will receive 5.75 continuing education units (CEUs). The cost is $50 for participants and vendors or $40 for students. The fee includes lunch and snacks.

Highlights of the conference include a Keynote address titled “Treatment of Acute Pain in Opioid-Tolerant Individuals.” Breakout sessions will examine mental health in the primary care setting, adolescent mental health, vaccinations, pharmacogenetics, CBD products, and treatment of ADHD.
