John Linke

Security Officer John Joseph Elsea Linke brings a dedication to service, attention to detail, and a genuine appreciation for community to the King University Office of Campus Safety and Security. With training in cybersecurity, emergency preparedness, first aid, de-escalation, and overnight security operations, he was drawn to King by the opportunity to better himself while becoming more involved in serving the campus community. Known for his calm presence, vigilance, and willingness to help, Officer Linke takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors during the overnight hours. Guided by Charlie Chaplin’s words, “Nothing is permanent in this world, not even our troubles,” he strives to approach challenges with patience, perspective, and compassion. Beyond campus, he enjoys gardening and studying botany, with a particular passion for sustainable living and growing food. He also appreciates the natural beauty of King’s campus, from its abundant wildlife to the fishing pond where members of the community gather and connect. Officer Linke wants students, faculty, staff, and visitors to know that he is always happy to talk about campus wildlife, gardening, or any concerns they may have, and that they can count on him for assistance whenever they need it.
