“There are only two times in my life where I feel like I have truly heard from God. Once was the first time my wife and I went on a date. She too went to King though we didn’t date until after we both had graduated. The other time was the day I first stepped on the King campus in February of 1994.”

Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Micah was an army brat before his father took a job to pastor a small church in Georgia. Micah was ten years old and would spend the rest of his adolescent years in Atlanta.

When he was in eighth grade his family attended an Evangelical Presbyterian General Assembly, King College had set up a table to recruit students. Though he wasn’t even yet in high school, he recalls being intrigued by the viewbook about the trips the students took to Israel. “That is what got my attention,” Micah said.

During high school, he found that he had a great interest in history. When it was time to enroll in college, Micah had remembered King and the traveling to learn about the history of Israel. He decided to take a trip to the campus to learn more about the school and get a feel for the atmosphere.

“There are only two times in my life where I feel like I have truly heard from God. Once was the first time my wife and I went on a date. She too went to King though we didn’t date until after we both had graduated. The other time was the day I first stepped on the King campus in February of 1994.”

Micah enrolled at King and initially declared his major as history, though switched within the first year to a double major studying English and Theatre. “I am interested in stories. During my junior year of college, I wrote a play called Mosquitos for my English honors project. For my Theatre honors project, I would direct the performance of the play in our King theatre. “Much of the subject matter that I write about involves the more complicated issues of humanity or theological questions I might have.”

Micah is a prolific writer and has written numerous plays and skits for a variety of audiences. He is also in the process of writing his second novel.

After college Micah worked in the King admissions department for many years before changing over to the office of Advancement. When asked about King he said, “King is a place of opportunity, your experience is going to be what you make it. You have the opportunity to try something new and pursue your passion. At King, you gain skills and experiences that can lead to a career and a fulfilling life. As a graduate student, I wrote my own business plan for a business venture that I wanted to start. I also, as mentioned, wrote, and directed my own play. What I learned at King impacted my career more than I could have anticipated when I was a student. Lastly, at King, you become a lifelong learner. With that skill you will be able to meet the challenges you will inevitably face in life.”
