PROGRAM DETAILS:

This two year completion degree is designed for the student with some course credits toward their degree. The following shows the range of educational backgrounds of students entering the program and the resulting path to complete the BSN degree:

  1. Associates Degree in Pre-Nursing – Students with an Associates Degree in Pre-Nursing are ready to begin the program.
  2. Associates Degree in any other field – Students with an Associates degree that is not Pre-Nursing may need to take the following prerequisite courses:
    • Anat. and Phys I & II (8 semester hrs.)
    • Chemistry I (4 semester hrs.)
    • Micro Biology (4 semester hrs.)
  3. Transfer Students – Students who have hours toward a degree in any field and want to transfer into the Program can speak with an Admissions Representative to form an individualized educational plan.
  4. Students with a Bachelors degree in a field other than nursing – Students who have hours toward a degree in any field and want to transfer into the program can speak with an Admissions Representative to form an individualized educational plan.
  5. LPNs – Students with an LPN license are exempt from several courses provided they meet the criteria stated in the King College catalog. An Admissions Representative can assist LPNs in this determination. The following prerequisite courses may also be required: 
    • Anat. and Phys I & II (8 semester hrs.)
    • Chemistry I (4 semester hrs.)
    • Micro Biology (4 semester hrs.)
    • Lifespan Development (4 semester hrs.)

WELLMONT

AMOUNT CRITERIA
Wellmont Scholarship/Loan $4,000

Wellmont Scholarship/Loan for up to $4,000 per academic year (max is $8,000 over 2 years) with required 3 year unamortized service agreement to work for Wellmont commencing on graduation date.

Scholarship/ Loan must be paid back in full with service requirement not met. Scholarship/Loan is up to $2,000 per year for up to 4 years for part-time students. 3 years service agreement required.

For WHS employees, students will be able to maintain full-time benefit eligibility (excluding PTO accrual) when working for WHS between 24 - 31.9 hours per pay period if they were working FT immediately prior to enrolling in the Wellmont/King School of Nursing.
