Meet the Staff
Emily Loudon serves as the Director of Campus Life and as the advisor for the Student Life Activities Committee at King, also known as SLACK. She also oversees the Intramural program at King. Emily is originally from Ohio and graduated from Mount Union College (University of Mount Union), while her master's is from the University of Akron in higher education administration. She is excited about providing new SLACK activities and programs this year that serve the students and the campus community. She is looking forward to getting more students involved in the SLACK program. Her favorite memories from SLACK would be End of the Year Bash, the Natalie Stovall concert, and getting to go white water rafting and the guide falling out of the raft.
Caitlin Henry serves as the Coordinator of Activities in addition to the Area Coordinator for Residence Life.
Sarah Guy is a junior from Blountville, TN, majoring in digital media and political science who wants to work in foreign policy. She joined SLACK because she loved all the activities they planned and found that SLACK events are the best way to make new friends. Her favorite thing about King is being able to have a one-on-one relationship with each of her professors. She is also a LAUNCH co-chair, a Student Government Association senator, co-president of Photo Club, and a Resident Advisor in Parks. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and hanging out with her Weimaraner, Bobo. An interesting fact about Sarah is she is deaf in her left ear.
Derek Hurst is a junior athletic training major from White Pine, TN. After graduation from King, Derek would like to attend graduate school to become a Physician Assistant. He joined SLACK because he enjoyed helping and making events that students will enjoy and have fun. His favorite thing about King is the small school feel and that the teachers actually care about each student. He is also on the cycling team and a Resident Assistant. His hobbies are anything outdoors. He loves camping, hiking, running, wood working, and fishing. An interesting fact about Derek is he knows how to cross-stitch.
Reuben Dupre is a junior from Mobile, AL and is majoring in chemistry. His plans after graduating King are to continue in higher education. He joined SLACK because he enjoys being in a leadership position and felt his skillset could contribute to the SLACK mission. His favorite things about King are the close-knit community and playing frisbee on the Oval. He is also a member of the cycling team, a Resident Assistant in Liston Hall, Student Government Association Director of Dining Services, and various others. He enjoys biking, as well as hiking, activities around campus, video games, and road trips. Interesting fact: he LOVES ketchup.
