King University Bands to Present Spring Concert at Paramount April 7
BRISTOL, Tenn., April 4, 2017 – The King University Bands will present their Spring Concert on Friday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Downtown Bristol. The evening will include performances by the King University Symphonic Band and the 250 Jazz Ensemble.
The 250 Jazz Ensemble, which was formed at King University five years ago, will begin by presenting tunes originally performed by Cannonball Adderly, Sonny Rollins, Charlie Byrd and others. The Symphonic Band will perform selections by Frank Ticheli and David Holsinger, as well as other notable wind band composers. Student conductor Lauren Castor will be conducting the Adagio for Winds by Elliot Del Borgo.
The King University Bands are under the direction of Lonny Finley, director of Bands at King. “We are pleased, once again, to perform at the Paramount Center for the Arts. It promises to be a memorable evening of music,” said Finley.
The concert will be held at the Paramount Center for the Arts on Friday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. General Admission for this performance is $5.00 at the door and free to students and faculty presenting a King ID.
