King University’s Samantha Taylor to Host Photography & Design Exhibit “New York City Travel & Fashion” Jan. 19

BRISTOL, Tenn., January 13, 2017 – King University senior Samantha Taylor will host a photography and design exhibition, “New York City Travel & Fashion,” on Thursday, Jan. 19 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in King’s Widner TV Lounge located on the lower level of Maclellan Hall. The event, which is free and open to the public, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artist.

A native of Newcastle, England, Samantha Taylor is majoring in Digital Media Art & Design specializing in Photography and Graphic Design with a minor in Business Administration. During the summer of 2016, Taylor interned as a fashion marketing/social media strategy intern with Jia Collection, a fashion house in New York City. A rising star in the fashion industry, designer Jia Li’s creates reversible fashion for women on the go with several key elements of their lifestyles in mind – style, comfort, versatility, and reversibility.

“I am doing an exhibition on my internship, in New York City featuring half my work from Jia Collection, including photography, social media graphics, and videos that I made throughout the three months for the fashion company,” says Taylor. “[Also included, will be] half of my personal work I have taken throughout my time in New York City.

Following her graduation from King University in May 2017, Taylor says she has her sights set on fashion photography. “My career goals after graduation [are to complete] a master’s [degree], and then get a job with a fashion company as a photographer, preferably in New York City, if not London. I am drawn to photography being a capturer and a designer, maintaining high detail throughout my work.”
