BRISTOL, Tenn., Nov. 20, 2017 – King University is sponsoring a community-wide Lessons
& Carols worship service on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church
adjacent to the University in Bristol, Tennessee. Food or monetary donations will
be accepted for the Bristol Emergency Food Pantry.
Lessons & Carols will feature scripture readings by King University faculty and staff.
The readings are paired with Christian Christmas carols. Choirs leading the worship
service through song include First Presbyterian Church in Bristol, Tennessee; First
Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, Tennessee; First Presbyterian Church in Kingsport,
Tennessee; and Central Presbyterian Church in Bristol, Virginia.
“We are delighted to share this King University Christmas tradition with the community
this year,” said W. Patrick Flannagan, professor of Music and director of choral activities
at King. “The service will certainly share the true meaning of Christmas – the gift
of Jesus our Lord and Savior.”
Admission is free and open to all. Attendees are asked to bring food or a donation
for the Bristol Emergency Food Pantry.
