94 FM The Fish & King University Launch Annual Scholarship Contest in Nashville

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Sept. 28, 2015 – One of 94 FM’s listeners will be the lucky winner of a full scholarship to King University. 94 FM The Fish and King University are sponsoring the third annual scholarship contest for the greater Nashville region. The promotion will begin on Thursday, Oct. 1 and run through Friday, Oct. 30. All applications must be submitted before 5 p.m. on Oc.t 30, at which time five finalists will be chosen from the pool of qualified applicants. The finalists will be invited to attend the open house/live remote on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 6-8 p.m. at King’s Franklin campus located at 113 Seaboard Lane, Suite B-100, in Franklin, Tenn., where the winner will be announced.

The Degree of Success Scholarship promotion is geared toward adults who would like to realize their dream of obtaining an undergraduate degree at no cost through King’s Graduate & Professional Studies and Online Programs (GPS).

Last year’s winner of the King’s Degree of Success Scholarship contest in Franklin was Jennifer Stanton of Old Gallatin, Tenn., nurse and full-time primary caregiver for her chronically ill child. When asked how it felt when her name was called as the winner of the scholarship contest, Stanton exclaimed she was super excited. “Since the birth of my son, my desire to help those suffering from debilitating disease and the family members that love and care for them, has become even more significant. I feel expanding my education to include a BSN degree and possibly an MSN degree in the future would help me reach my goals as well as enable me to help those less fortunate like never before.”

The contest winner will receive a full-tuition scholarship, including a laptop and books, to one of King’s GPS bachelor degree programs including Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or Psychology on site at King’s Franklin campus.

“Through King’s GPS program, the winner will be able to complete his or her degree courses in a workable and convenient environment one night a week. Whether you are searching to make yourself more marketable, further a career change, or serve as an inspiration to your family, it is never too late to pursue the dream of a college education,” says Micah Crews, vice president of Enrollment Management.

The public is invited to join the celebration when the winner is announced during an open house/live remote hosted by 94 FM The Fish, and tour King’s Franklin campus on Friday, Nov. 12 from 6-8 p.m. Those attending will have the opportunity to enjoy the Open House and meet with faculty, staff, and admissions representatives, and learn about available GPS programs.
