Alex Alexander Wins College Scholarship from King University, 94 FM The Fish

FRANKLIN, Tenn., Nov. 13, 2015 – King University and Nashville’s 94 FM The Fish announced Alex Mitchell Alexander of La Vergne, Tenn., as the winner of the third annual Degree of Success Scholarship contest promotion. The contest was open to anyone who sought the chance to realize their dreams of obtaining an undergraduate degree at no cost through King’s Graduate, Professional, and Online Studies Programs (GPS) in the greater Nashville area. King’s GPS programs feature class schedules and learning environments designed for working adults.

“We are thrilled to make Alex’s college dream come true by offering him the opportunity to pursue a bachelor’s degree at no cost,” said David Ferriss, regional director of recruitment, Nashville market, at King. “He will be able to complete his degree in a workable and convenient environment, one day a week. We know he will serve as an inspiration to other aspiring students that it is never too late to pursue the dream of a college education.”

“I feel a bit overwhelmed,” said Alexander. “With all the struggle I have had finding the money to [go back to school], it’s all taken care of now. I feel really blessed this has happened. I’m super excited.”

In addition to a full-tuition scholarship to King to receive his Bachelor of Business Administration, Alexander will also receive his textbooks and a laptop.

94 FM The Fish listeners were invited to apply for a scholarship from Oct. 1 through Oct. 30. After the pool of applicants had been narrowed to five finalists, the grand prize winner was chosen and revealed at an open house event at King University’s Franklin campus on Nov. 12.

“We are honored to offer this opportunity to make a remarkable difference in someone's life,” stated Ferriss. “Whether you are searching to make yourself more marketable, further a career change, or serve as an inspiration to your family, it is never too late to pursue the dream of a college education.”
