Career Development and Networking Event Set for Pellissippi State Community College Oct. 2

BRISTOL, Tenn., Sept. 14, 2015 – Alumni and current students of both Pellissippi State Community College and King University are invited to attend Coffee and Conversation, a joint career development and networking event set for Friday, Oct. 2 from 8-9 a.m. The event will take place at King University’s Hardin Valley campus located at 10950 Spring Bluff Way in Knoxville, Tenn.

Jill Green of BGT Recruiting and Consulting will discuss networking and tips for networking. Attendees will then break into small groups and visit three tables to discuss various career development topics including: skill assessment tests, volunteer work, job interviewing, managing your online presence, resources, resume writing, and keeping up with industry trends. Participants will be given an opportunity to network at the conclusion of the small group discussions.

“Networking is very important to enhance your career path,” says Michael Webb, director of alumni services at King. “This event will help alumni of both King and Pellissippi understand the nuances of networking, as well as other career development topics. The opportunity to partner with Pellissippi for an alumni event is exciting. I hope many of our students and alumni take advantage of the upcoming career development opportunity.”
