King University News :: Virginia Intermont Transcript Repository now Available through King University

BRISTOL, Tenn. June 16, 2014 – Alumni of Virginia Intermont College are now able to access their college transcripts through the Office of Registration and Records at King University. An agreement was recently signed releasing custodianship of student academic records for Virginia Intermont College to King University.

“We are delighted to be of help to our friends at Virginia Intermont,” said Dr. Richard Ray, interim president for King University. “The agreement, which took effect June 1, allows our Office of Registration and Records to issue official academic transcripts. King will permanently house both physical and electronic records as well as course catalogs for VI’s 130 year history.”

“Virginia Intermont College is extremely pleased to partner with King University to make an easy transition for our students and alumni. The transcripts and records are now close by on the King Campus. This is a true collaboration between long-time neighbors,” said Art Rebrovick, interim president for Virginia Intermont College.

“As a result of our collaborative efforts with VI, this mutual agreement, to house their academic records at King University, will accommodate and support Virginia Intermont alumni in this time of transition as well as in the future. We see this opportunity as a privilege to serve their alumni and a way to honor the VI legacy,” said Matt Roberts, vice president for Academic Affairs for King.

Jessica Swiney, registrar and director of Registration and Records for King University said, “VI students seeking copies of their academic transcripts may visit http://registrar.king.edu. Here they can either print the form to mail in along with payment, or complete an online form and pay by credit card. Transcript requests will be processed in three to five business days and will only cost $5 per transcript copy.”

Swiney added, “Organizations needing to verify degrees or enrollment may do so through King’s Office of Registration and Records.”
