King University News :: Registration Open for Tornado Athletic Club 2014 Golf Tournament

BRISTOL, Tenn., May 9, 2014 – On Friday, June 6, 2014, King University will host its Tornado Athletic Club 2014 Golf Tournament at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon, Va. The event will get underway with check in at 8 a.m. and a 9 a.m. shotgun start. An awards reception and lunch will follow the completion of the tournament. Registration for the four-man select shot format is open through Monday, May 26.

“The participants in our golf tournament will have a wonderful time and .proceeds from the event support all athletic programs at King so it is a win – win situation for everyone involved,” said John King, vice president for Development and Enrollment Management for King University.

The golf tournament will include several events such as a putting contest and a hole-in-one contest for a $10,000 cash prize with additional prizes including a Sharp LCD flat-screen TV, set of Callaway irons, and roundtrip domestic airfare for two. Representatives from Dixon Golf will also host the “Dixon Challenge” at hole 16 for additional prize opportunities.

Sponsorship levels for the tournament include:

·         Title Sponsor ($1,500+) - One team of four players with pre-event publicity; signage and publicity at the tournament; and automatic entry into the putting contest

·         Food Sponsor ($1,000) - One team of four players with pre-event publicity, and signage and publicity at the tournament

·         Hole Sponsor 4-Man Team ($600) – One team of four players with signage at sponsor designated hole

·         4-Man Team ($450)

·         Hole Sponsor ($200) Signage at designated hole

·         Individual Players ($125)

All sponsorships are tax deductible minus $57 per player and $15 sign fee. Individual players may enter the tournament for a fee of $125. Red Tees and Mulligans are $10 each the day of the tournament. The fee for the putting contest is $10. Each participant will receive a “goodie” bag.
