BRISTOL, Tenn., April 4, 2014 – On Friday, April 25, 2014, King University will host
the Alumni Friends Scholarship Fund 2014 Golf Tournament at the Glenrochie Country
Club in Abingdon, Va. The events will get underway with check in at 9 a.m. and a 10
a.m. shotgun start. An awards reception will follow the completion of the tournament.
Registration for the four-man select shot format is open through Monday, April 14.
“The participants in our golf tournament always have a wonderful time and we are able
to raise more than $20,000 annually for the Annual Scholarship Fund. It is a win –
win situation for everyone involved,” said John King, vice president for Development
and Enrollment Management for King University.
The golf tournament will include several events such as a putting contest and a hole-in-one
contest for a $10,000 cash prize with additional prizes including a Sharp LCD flat-screen
TV, set of Callaway irons, and roundtrip domestic airfare for two. Additionally, representatives
from Dixon Golf will also host the “Dixon Challenge” at Par 3.
Sponsorship levels for the tournament include:
· Masters Club ($2,500+) - One team of four players with signage at the tournament
and automatic entry into the putting contest;
· Players Club ($1,500) - One team of four players with signage at the tournament;
· Amateurs Club ($550) - Half-team of two players with signage at the tournament.
All sponsorships are tax deductible minus $57 per player and $15 sign fee. Individual
players may enter the tournament for a fee of $150. Each participant will receive
a “goodie” bag and box lunch.
All proceeds will benefit University students through King’s Alumni Friends Scholarship
