BRISTOL, Tenn., Jan. 17, 2014 - Before you know it, King University’s 88th annual Dogwood Weekend will be upon us. Dogwood Weekend, which will take place April
11-13, brings alumni and friends together to celebrate and reminisce all things King.
During the week leading up to Dogwood, KU will be celebrating its first Student Spirit
Week April 7-11, which will include daily activities and games and an undergraduate
research poster session in the E.W. King Library.
This year Dogwood Weekend events will include King’s Theatre Department’s production
of “The Tale of the Mandarin Ducks” based on the book by King’s own alumna Katherine
Paterson, and the choral production of “The True Story of Cinderella.” There will
also be presentation of the Dogwood Court and King and Queen on the Oval, parade of
the Court, along with the Dogwood Ball. Former Dogwood Kings and Queens are encouraged
to attend and be recognized.
Other activities include Tornado baseball taking on Limestone College and softball
taking on both Limestone and Barton College over the course of the weekend; alumni
volleyball game; KU Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony; along with reunion
gatherings; the alumni luncheon; and the picnic on the Oval.
