King University News :: King University to Host GPS Information Sessions at Walters State on March 26

King University will host two information sessions for Graduate and Professional Studies Online Programs (GPS) degree options including Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN), and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs on Tuesday, March 26 at Walters State Community College (WSCC) in Morristown, Tenn.  Sessions will be available from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in room 148 of the Technology building, and in room 130 from 5 - 7 p.m. in the Math and Behavioral Social Sciences building.

King is making it easier for working adults throughout East Tennessee in their quest to obtain a college degree.  This session, conducted by King University admissions representatives, will provide information on how to obtain a BBA, RN-BSN, or MBA degree through King’s GPS program in as little as 16 months.

“Extending one’s education to include a bachelor’s degree provides increased career opportunities, whether a student is seeking to advance their career or they are transitioning from their current area of expertise into a new one,” said Mona Salyers, director of recruitment for enrollment management for King University.

King’s BBA program offers adults a high quality, undergraduate degree designed to prepare the adult learner for a career by endowing them with excellent business, communication, and critical thinking skills that lead to a lifetime of service, stewardship, and success.  The BBA program allows students to directly integrate the management knowledge, philosophy, skills, theory, and tools for a successful career in the 21st century.  The BBA degree is being offered at WSCC in Morristown and Sevierville.

King’s RN-BSN degree program empowers nurses to become leaders in the health care industry.  Students in the RN-BSN degree program apply competencies of assessment and therapeutic intervention, communication, critical thinking, teaching, management and leadership, and knowledge integration from the arts and sciences, nursing and related health sciences.  Students also learn to collaborate, communicate, and negotiate with nurses, other health care providers, religious congregations, and community agencies to promote, maintain or restore health and evaluate nursing care outcomes.  The RN-BSN program is being offered at WSCC in Morristown.

The primary goal of King’s MBA for Professionals program is to prepare students to be effective strategic leaders and managers, and assist students to directly integrate management research, theoretical constructs, skills, abilities, and ethical practices within their own contemporary-professional situation.  The program is a blend of intensive classroom case analysis with individual preparation and small group discussion.  An emphasis is placed on managing for quality results.  The MBA curriculum adopts and implements three creative components: a team-based learning model, a fully integrated curriculum, and a transformational learning experience for personal and professional skill development.  The MBA program is offered at King’s location at Pellissippi State Community College in Strawberry Plains.

Admissions and financial aid information will be available, and application fees will be waived for all who attend.  For more information, please call Mona Salyer at 800.362.0014 or email
