King University News :: King University Joins Nashville Health Care Council

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – King University, one of the oldest private institutions of higher learning in the Southeast, has joined the Nashville Health Care Council. The council is an association of health care industry leaders working together to further establish Nashville as the nation’s health care industry capital.

King University recently opened a new Nashville-area campus located at 113 Seaboard Lane in Franklin, Tenn., with classes scheduled to begin in January 2014.

“In addition to our long history in the natural sciences, King University also has recognized programs in nursing and health sciences,” says Dr. Greg Jordan, president of King University. “King’s affiliation with the Nashville Health Care Council provides an opportunity to engage in partnerships that further establish this region as a leader and premier provider in the health care industry.”

Among the degree programs offered at the new King University location will be a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses Accelerated Program (RN-BSN). Students in this program will attend classes one evening per week, as well as one additional class each month to complete the accredited program in 16 months. King will also offer a Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration at the Franklin location.

“We are pleased to welcome King University as a new member of the council, and we look forward to collaborating with them to grow Nashville’s health care industry,” says Caroline Young, council president.
