King University News :: King Professor Presents Series in Abingdon on Foretelling and Forthtelling :: Prophecy in Christian History

Dr. Martin Dotterweich, associate professor of History for King College, will present a four-week series entitled Foretelling and Forthtelling: Prophecy in Christian History at Sinking Springs Presbyterian Church in Abingdon, Va. The series will take place each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m., beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 29 and continuing on through the end of March.

Dr. Dotterweich's presentation will delve into the history of prophecy throughout Christian history. He has extensively researched the presence of foretelling and forthtelling interwoven into Presbyterian theology. His research has discovered the phenomenon throughout history in the Highland region of Scotland. This belief system continues to present in the Highlands even today.

Dr. Dotterweich received his undergraduate degree in Literature and Philosophy with a minor in Bible from Wheaton College. He received his Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
