Students at Pellissippi State Community College’s Strawberry Plains location now have
the opportunity to transfer into King’s Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) program
and complete their bachelor’s degree.
Thanks to an articulation agreement established between the two schools, Pellissippi
State students, upon completion of their associate’s degree, may enter directly into
the GPS program with priority consideration for admission. King’s GPS program provides
adult-oriented degree programs designed to reduce the challenges adult learners face.
“This collaboration not only creates opportunities for Pellissippi State students
to earn four-year degrees without having to leave the community, but also prepares
them for employment in careers that are in-demand in the college’s service area,”
said Micah Crews, associate vice president for Enrollment Management GPS and Online
Studies at King.
Pellissippi State students in Strawberry Plains will have two transfer options - Bachelor
of Business Administration (BBA), or Bachelor of Science for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN).
“The convenient location is ideal for Pellissippi State students because they are
already acclimated to the campus,” said Mona Salyer, Director of Recruitment for Graduate
Professional Studies at King. “Students will be able to complete the bachelor’s degree
program in only 16 months.”
“Extending one’s education to include a bachelor’s degree provides increased career
opportunities, whether a student is seeking to advance their career or they are transitioning
from their current area of expertise into a new one,” said Crews.
