Students, family, alumni, and friends are all invited to be a part of King’s Family
Weekend 2012 activities. The three day celebration runs from Sept. 28 through Sept.
30, and lets current students have the opportunity to spend time with their families,
gives prospective students the chance to tour the campus, and gives alumni the opportunity
to put their skills to the test during athletic games as well.
The weekend tees off on Friday with a golf tournament benefiting the King College
golf teams at the Bristol Country Club. Saturday morning activities begin at 8 a.m.
with the President’s Breakfast and Academic Showcase in the Student Center Complex.
Saturday afternoon, the men’s and women’s soccer team take on Barton College.
Other events include a cookout near the Student Center Complex, SLACK (Student Life
Activities Committee at King) roaming performers, as well as alumni athletic games.
“Family Weekend provides the opportunity for students and their families to enjoy
a variety of events throughout the weekend,” said Emily Loudon, director of student
life for King College. “Family Weekend provides fun for all ages including everything
from watching sporting events, theatre productions, or having a portrait done by a
King’s Theatre Program’s Twin City Radio Theatre troupe invites everyone to join them
for an exciting evening as they perform “Edgar Allen Poe’s Tales of Madness.” Performances
will run Sept. 28–29, beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening in the Fine Arts Theatre
as part of King’s Family Weekend.
