King University News :: King College Music Department to Host Summer Choral Arts Camp

The Music Department at King College is pleased to announce the 2012 Summer Choral Arts Camp for rising students grade four through twelve. The week long camp will take place in King's Memorial Chapel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 25 through June 29. The campers will participate in activities to enhance choral, musicianship, movement, and beginning instrumental skills.

The camp will offer students the opportunity to improve their vocal skills, work with other student singers, and experience a daily afternoon concert series by local talent. The camp will conclude with a pizza party for campers and a concert at 7:00 p.m. The free concert will highlight the skills campers learned throughout the week.

Instilling the love of music into children's hearts and minds is the passion of directors Shea A. Clay, Jane Morison, and Valerie Pickard. Students from King College Music Department will assist the directors during the camp. The cost for each camper will be $125, which includes a free t-shirt, music packet, recorder, a daily snack, a pizza party, and memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.
