King University News :: King Announces Summer 2012 Graduate & Professional Studies Degree Offerings

This summer, working adults in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will have the opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree or master's degree from King College.

King offers programs specifically designed with the adult learner in mind through the College's Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) program, as well as numerous courses for students who wish to transition from an associate degree to a bachelor's degree.

Our GPS program is tailored to reduce the challenges facing the adult learner. Time and access is often a barrier for students to finish their degrees, said Micah Crews, associate vice president for enrollment management for King College. By offering classes in both convenient locations, one night per week, and in an online format, the working adult may obtain their degree in as little as 16 months and open the door for professional advancement.

The summer 2012 GPS degree offerings for Bristol include Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration for professionals (MBA), and Master of Education.

King's instructional location at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education will offer the BBA and MBA. The BBA degree will also be offered in Blountville.

Southwest Virginia residents will have the opportunity to study for their BBA and MBA in both Big Stone Gap and Richlands.

King also offers the BBA degree program in both Morristown and Sevierville, along with the Bachelor of Science in Nursing for Registered Nurses (RN-BSN) in Sevierville. Degree offerings at King's Knoxville location will include BBA and MBA. GPS students in Knoxville will also have the opportunity to study the two most recent additions to the program - Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Psych) and Bachelor of Science in Communication (Comm).

Students also now have the option of obtaining their King College degree online. We are excited to provide working adults with additional ways to obtain a quality degree and further their education, said Crews. Our degree programs are intended to build knowledge and practice in the field, as well as foster professional integrity, and promote personal growth.

Online degree options include BBA, Bachelor of Information Technology (BTech), RN-BSN, and MBA.

Summer classes will begin the week of May 7.
