King University News :: King Alumni & Friends to Gather in Atlanta for Braves Game

King College alumni and friends are invited to a gathering at the Atlanta Braves baseball game on Friday, June 8 in Atlanta, Ga., at Turner Field. 

During a pre-game ceremony at the June 8 game, John Smoltz’s number, 29, will be retired.  Smoltz was a Cy Young Award recipient and key Braves player during the 1990s. 

Prior to the game and pre-game ceremony, alumni will picnic at the Top of the Chop patio beginning  at 5:35 p.m. with King’s new Athletic Director David Hicks, Chief Development Officer John King, and Director of Alumni and Career Services Finley Green.  Afterwards, everyone is welcome to enjoy the Atlanta Braves take on the Toronto Blue Jays beginning at 7:35 p.m.  The game will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Cost per person is $15 ($10 food/beverage credit with ticket).  Alumni and friends who plan to attend are requested to RSVP by June 1 to Patty Houston at 800.621.5464 or via email to pmhousto@king.edu
