King University News :: High School Students Get "First Look" at King

High school sophomores and juniors who want to experience King College campus life are invited to attend King's First Look event on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2009.  The event offers students and their families the opportunity to talk with King representatives about financial aid, the admissions process, student life, degree programs, and more.

Have you ever listened to someone describe an amazing experience, and heard, 'You just need to see it for yourself!'  The atmosphere and personality of a campus play an enormous part in a college search, and you can only experience them if you visit campus, said Greg King, director of undergraduate recruitment.  This event allows high school students and their families to get a first look into the King experience, our academic foundations, the personalized support they will receive from our faculty and staff, and the welcoming nature of the King community.

Registration will open from 8:30 a.m. - 9:10 a.m., and scheduled activities will begin at 9 a.m. Participants will break into separate student and parent information sessions on choosing the right college, making the transition from high school to college, admissions sessions, checklists for students sophomore and junior years, academics, student life, and campus safety, as well as Q A panels with current King College students.  Throughout the day, participants will interact with faculty, staff and current students.  Representatives will also be present to offer guidance on the admissions and financial aid process.  Participants will also be given a tour of the beautiful King College campus.

The day includes lunch in the King College dining hall and campus tours.  Activities will conclude at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Students interested in attending First Look should contact the admissions office at 800.362.0014 or register online at firstlook.king.edu.
