King University News :: Give to King Fiscal Year-End Campaign Under Way through May 31

BRISTOL, Tenn., May 20, 2014 – The Give to King fiscal year-end campaign by King University’s Office of Development is taking place until Saturday, May 31, 2014. King’s Office of Development is encouraging all King alumni to give a financial gift of at least $10 by the University’s fiscal year end on May 31.

“We are asking all King University alumni to show their support by donating a monetary gift of at least $10 by the School’s fiscal year end on May 31,” says Denise Asbury, director of annual giving and alumni services. “Your gifts not only increase financial opportunities for King, its students, academic programs, and facilities support, but also increase the school’s alumni participation percentage.”

Alumni participation is one of the criteria reviewed by many of the publications who rate and rank King in comparison to peer institutions. “Every gift counts, and therefore enhances King’s opportunity to attract and recruit students who recognize our strong academic experience and personal investment in their future by our faculty, staff, and alumni,” said Asbury.

“Foundations also frequently seek out a school’s alumni participation rate prior to determine how much the foundation may or may not donate to a particular school,” said Asbury. “An alumni’s gift of $10 can make a big difference. It will increase King’s alumni participation rate which encourages peer participation. It increases King’s ranking on collegiate ranking reports which in turn have a positive impact on enrollment. Monetary support by alumni also increases the likelihood a foundation or other organizations will donate to support King’s mission.”

Donations will be allocated to King’s Annual Fund for Scholarships Programs. Gifts may be designated to benefit the Tornado Athletic Club, a specific academic program, or the Jewel Bell Scholarship program.
