King University News :: Five Finalist Selected; Voting Open March 1-6 for College Dream Scholarship Contest

The five finalists in the King University/WCQR College Dream Contest have been chosen.  Voting begins March 1 and will continue through March 6 at  The winner will be revealed on WCQR’s morning show on March 8. 

The five finalists are Ted Blumberg of Gray, Tenn., Lora Gilreath of Piney Flats, Tenn., Lucas Carr of Bluff City, Tenn., Andrea Tipton of Gate City, Va., and Joseph Irvin of Bristol, Tenn.  

The winner of the King University / WCQR College Dream promotion will receive a free scholarship to King University to obtain their degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or Criminal Justice at select locations including Bristol, Blountville, Kingsport, Richlands, Big Stone Gap, Morristown, and Sevierville.  In addition, the winner will also receive a new laptop computer courtesy of Eastman Credit Union, textbooks, and a $50 gift certificate from the King University Tornado Alley Shoppe.
