King University News :: East TN Hispanic Chamber of Commerce & KU to Host Hispanic Resource Fair June 26

BRISTOL, Tenn., May 29, 2014– East Tennessee Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and King University will host a Hispanic Resource Fair on Thursday, June 26 from 5-8 p.m., at the University’s Knoxville campus located at The Village at Hardin Valley at 10950 Spring Bluff Way, Knoxville, Tenn.

“The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of East Tennessee cultivates these outreach opportunities through key strategic partners like King University to meet the needs of the Hispanic population,” says Rosa Mar, chief executive officer for the East Tennessee Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

The fair’s purpose is to introduce King University higher-education opportunities to the Hispanic communities within East Tennessee. Information will be presented on career building initiatives, such as resume preparation and interviewing skills. Enrollment counselors will also help demonstrate how employers are seeking diversity in the workforce through job openings and on the job training programs.

“We are excited to offer this free event in an effort to strengthen the Hispanic community through continuing education and workforce development,” says Kristi Reynolds, assistant vice president of GPS Enrollment Management. “Collaborating with the East Tennessee Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is important to King University as we identify gaps in education, specialized training, and job preparedness.”

The June 26 fair will provide information on King's traditional undergraduate degrees, and adult undergraduate and graduate degrees. The event will also provide an opportunity to meet one-on-one with faculty, financial aid counselors, enrollment counselors, career center counselors, and tour King’s recently expanded Knoxville campus.
