King University News :: 92.9 WJXA & King University Launch Second Annual Scholarship Contest in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 29, 2014 – One of 92.9 WJXA’s listeners will be the lucky winner of a full scholarship to King University.  WJXA and King University are sponsoring the second annual scholarship contest for the Nashville region.  The promotion will begin on Monday, Sept. 29 and will run through Sunday, Oct. 26.  All applications must be submitted before 5 p.m. on Oct. 26, at which time five finalists will be chosen from the pool of qualified applicants.  The finalists will be invited to attend the open house/live remote on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. at King’s Franklin campus located at 113 Seaboard Lane, Suite B-100, in Franklin, Tenn., where the winner will be announced.

Last year’s winner of the King’s Degree of Success Scholarship contest in Nashville was Diana Reuter of Old Hickory, Tenn., a skip tracer for Buffaloe Associates, PLC. When asked how it felt when her name was called as the winner of the scholarship contest, Reuter exclaimed it was great. “A college education has always been my dream. It is late coming, but so worth it - giving me a confidence and more educational skills for a better future. My husband has been a major support.”

The Degree of Success Scholarship promotion is geared toward adults who would like to realize their dream of obtaining an undergraduate degree at no cost through King’s Graduate Professional Studies and Online Programs (GPS).

The winner will receive a full-tuition scholarship, including a laptop and books, to one of King’s GPS degree programs including business administration, criminal justice, health informatics, healthcare administration, nursing, or psychology.

“Providing a full tuition scholarship is an amazing way to transform somebody's life, and I am so proud to work for an institution that is willing to provide that opportunity through the Degree of Success contest,” says Josie Russell, regional director of recruitment for the Nashville market.  “I can't wait to meet our second winner here in Middle Tennessee!”

The public is invited to join the celebration when the winner is announced during an open house/live remote hosted by 92.9 WJXA, and tour King’s newest campus on Friday, Nov. 6 from 5-8 p.m.  Those attending will have the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, admissions, and financial aid representatives, and learn about available GPS programs where students can earn their degree in as little as 16 months, one night a week.
