King University Alumni Hiking Event to take place in Shady Valley, TN April 25

Alumni HikeBRISTOL, Tenn., April 9, 2015 – King University alumni are invited to join King on their third hike of 2015. The Alumni Office will kick off the hike at Appalachian Mountain trails from Shady Valley, Tenn., to Highway 421. 

The Hike with King in 2015 events are excellent opportunities for alumni to connect with old friends and create memories in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. This Appalachian Mountain Trail is six-mile hike of easy to moderate difficulty and includes amazing terrain and beauty.

“There is no better way to enjoy the spring time, than hiking on the Appalachian Trail,” says Michael Webb, director of Alumni Services at King University. “I am very excited for the upcoming hike from Shady Valley to Hwy 421. It is going to be a fantastic hike through some of the prettiest scenery in the world. It’s a 6 mile hike with wonderful views of Shady Valley. I hope many alumni can join us!”

Cost for the event is free for all involved. Alumni will gather at the parking area on Highway 421 that sits on the county line between Sullivan and Johnson Counties. Participants are asked to gather at the parking area by 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 25. Transportation will then be provided to the beginning of the trail on Highway 91.
