About the Kingsport Campus Library

The Kingsport campus library is an extension of the E.W. King Library services offered on the main campus in Bristol.  For detailed information about E.W. King Library, see About the Library. Generally, the Kingsport campus library is under the same policies as the main campus library, with the following exceptions:

Circulation
While the Kingsport Campus Library's business and nursing resources collection is growing, you may find that you need materials from the main campus library in Bristol. If you cannot pick them up, you may request they be delivered to the Kingsport campus library by using the Interlibrary Loan online forms found at the Interlibrary Loan page. Please be aware that delivery may take several days to a week. When materials arrive, borrowers will be notified through e-mail. Items may be retrieved at the Kingsport Campus Library office.

Course Reserves
Faculty who teach at the Wellmont and Downtown locations may place books and other materials on reserve circulation. Due to the time pressures inherent in the adult education programs offered at these sites, typically reserve materials may be checked out for a two hour period for in-building use only. This policy allows more students access to the materials in an equitable manner. Exceptions will be made only at the request of the professor.

To place materials on reserve, a faculty member must complete a reserve request form for each item. These forms are available at the Kingsport campus library office. For more information on course reserves in Kingsport, contact the Kingsport campus library office at (423) 224-3385 or send an e-mail message to library@king.edu.

Reserve materials are shelved in the Kingsport campus library office and may be checked out during the library's hours of operation.

Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is a service through which library materials not found in the E. W. King Library may be requested from other libraries. To request interlibrary loan material, go to Interlibrary Loan page and use the online Book Request Form or the Periodical Request Form. It usually takes from several days to two weeks for materials to arrive. Be sure to allow enough time to obtain and then to use borrowed materials.

When materials arrive, borrowers will be notified through e-mail. Items may be retrieved at the Kingsport campus library office.
