High school graduates who are seeking admission as a first-time freshman must have satisfactorily completed at least 16 academic units at high school level.
Coursework should include the following minimum requirements:
Students who do not meet one or more of the set admissions requirements but whose overall record shows potential for success at King College may be reviewed by the Admissions Committee for potential conditional acceptance. Contact the Office of Admissions.
Students transferring to King College with 30 or more credit hours of previous college level work must have earned a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA for acceptance. Students transferring with fewer than 30 credit hours must also meet the new freshman admissions requirements as stated above.
Advanced Standing: If you’ve participated in the Advanced Placement Program of the College Entrance Examination Board and you’ve achieved a grade of 3, you will receive advance placement in the appropriate subject areas without college credit. If you scored a 4 or 5, you’ll be granted college credit.
If you’ve participated in the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) of the College Entrance Examination Board, you may receive college credit for corresponding courses taught at King College. Contact the Registrar for additional information.
King College recognizes the International Baccalaureate Diploma. King will grant a maximum of 8 semester hours of credit for scores of 5, 6, and 7 on each of the IB Higher Level examinations. The amount of credit awarded will be decided by the Registrar in conference with the Dean of Faculty. The maximum number of credit hours awarded for IB is 30.
