Admission Requirements

Admission decisions reflect genuine concern for the applicants as well as for the integrity of King University. Admission to the University is competitive and based on an overall evaluation including:

Admission Procedure

To be eligible for enrollment in the MBA Program at King University an applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or better on all prior academic work. Students who do not meet this requirement may be conditionally accepted.

To apply for admission to the Master of Business Administration program, individuals must take the following steps:

  • Submit a completed application.
  • Request transcripts from each college or university previously attended.
  • Submit two recommendations from professional sources. These can be from your supervisor and another professional source including a previous college instructor or another professional colleague whom you have not supervised.
    • Our application system requires recommendations be completed online by your recommenders.
    • When completing your application you will be asked to identify two recommenders and enter their e-mail addresses.
    • Not until after you click the final submit button for your application will your recommenders receive an email containing a link to a customized online recommendation form. After the initial request, the link is automatically sent once more one week later if the recommendation has still not been submitted.
    • Once entered, any substitution to those two names must be handled by paper submission.
  • Write a three-to-four page personal statement indicating your interest in the program, your academic experience, any job-related experience, and your career goals.
  • Provide a copy of your one-to-two page resume.
  • Interview with the MBA Program Coordinator.

Conditional Acceptance

The MBA Program Coordinator will consider any exceptions to the above criteria. Students who do not meet the minimum GPA requirements, but appear to be capable of performing well in the program, at the discretion of the admission committee may be accepted conditionally into the program. Conditional acceptance will be lifted upon the student's successful completion of his or her first semester with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Failure to achieve a grade point average of 3.0 or higher will result in the student being academically suspended.

GMAT Policy

The MBA Program at King University does not require GMAT scores.

MBA Program Requirement

To earn a MBA degree, each Graduate Student must:

  • Complete the 36 hours of graduate level coursework.
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or above, and received no more than two Cs.

Transfer Credit

Up to six graduate credits of "B" work or above from regionally accredited colleges or universities may be accepted in transfer toward meeting the elective requirements of the program.

Orientation

Orientation is within the first two weeks of classes and is mandatory for all new students. Curriculum materials for the first semester and assignments for the first week are provided by the University at that time. All tuition and fees for the first semester must be paid at registration unless other arrangements have been made as detailed on the Business Office page.
