Financial Aid

Based on guidelines established by the United States Congress, the information you provide on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will determine the amount your family is expected to contribute toward the cost of your education. The financial aid you are then eligible for is determined by the following formula:

College Cost - Family Contribution = Financial Need

The family contribution remains the same regardless of the cost of the college.

At King College, we try to meet most of your financial need with various sources of financial aid. More than $19 million will be awarded to King College students in scholarships, grants, and loans. Work opportunities are usually available on campus to assist students who wish to work.

Standard Sources of Financial Aid

Your financial aid package will be made up of one or more of the following sources:

  • Scholarships - Awarded to students on the basis of merit and achievement. Special criteria are considered for academic, athletic, or fine arts scholarships
  • Grants - Gift monies awarded to students on the basis of financial need. Grants do not require repayment. Students may qualify for three types of grants including King College grants, federal, or state grants.
  • Loans - Student loans are an important source of financial aid and are available to help meet expenses. Most loans have low interest rates with no interest accruing while the student is enrolled. Repayment for most loans begins after graduation or withdrawal from the college.

Students being considered for athletic scholarship at King College may be excluded from institutional need-based scholarships due to limitations on scholarship aid as determined by the institution and various conference guidelines.
