Network Access
How do I connect to the network from my
dorm room?
Make sure your computer has a compatible
Ethernet card. We recommend the 3Com Etherlink III with a twisted pair
connector.
Finally, plug your patch cable (available in 10, 25, and 50
foot lengths from the King College Bookstore) into your computer and into the
blue data jack in your room. We cannot provide a guarantee of service if you
use a patch cable or ethernet card which does not conform to our specifications.
Often, uncertified cables or cards will send large amounts of traffic onto the
network. If we find this to be the case from your computer, the system will
disable your port and you will be denied access to the network.
I've completed the form and have connected my computer to the
blue data jack in my room. Now what?
