Business Administration and Economics, English, and Computer Science.
Online Media and Marketing prepares you to be a webmaster . . .
A webmaster is, either alone or as part of a web development team,
responsible for managing net-based communication, back-end technology, and
business management.
Webmasters work in a variety of settings: large corporations, web design
firms, government agencies, academic institutions, Internet companies, freelance
from home, etc.
Essential skills for a webmaster:
- Keen technical, design, project management and problem solving skills
- Good business sense
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills

The interdisciplinary nature of the Online Media and Marketing program
addresses all of these areas.
Job Outlook:
In terms of income, outlook, security, stress, environment, and physical
demands, webmasters have one of the top jobs in America.
In 1999, the average webmaster was earning $53,000 with starting salaries
as high as $49,400.

... and more!
In addition to helping you acquire the skills needed to become a webmaster,
the Online Media and Marketing program will provide you with a strong and solid
foundation in business, which will allow you to work in traditional
marketing/public relations positions, and a foundation in computer science which
will allow you to work in network management/administration positions.
Plus, recent trends in the information technology job market indicate that
individuals with strong business, communication, and technical skills are more
likely to be promoted to upper-level administrative positions (Director of IS,
CIO, etc.) than those with purely a technical background.
The Online Media and Marketing program is also a great preparation for
graduate studies in Information Science, Knowledge Management, or Information
Technology.
