Why Study Spanish?

The numbers speak for themselves:

  • According to the U.S. census, between 1990 and 2000, the number of native Spanish speakers increased by 300% in North Carolina, Georgia, and Arkansas and doubled in Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, and Nevada.
  • Spanish is the 2nd most widely spoken language in the world by number of speakers and 3rd by total number of speakers.
  • Spanish is fourth on the list of languages spoken in the most countries.
