History and Political Science Club
The King College History and Political Science Club exists to preserve a
scholarly atmosphere in regard to the knowledge of history and political
science. We host lectures from leading politicians, historians, professors,
theologians, and even physicists. (Also included in this year's events were a
hamburger feast and a paintball outing.) The History and Political Science Club
is concerned with demonstrating and preserving a Christian worldview in academia
and exploring how history and politics should be engaged in while being faithful
to the Scriptures. For example, in the most recent year, we met every Wednesday
to study the Francis Schaeffer series, "How Should We Then Live." One of our
guests this year was Howard Phillips, Presidential Candidate 2000 for the
Constitution Party. While not everyone will agree with Schaeffer or Phillips,
these are examples of two men attempting to use the wisdom of God to evaluate
history and politics. We hope that the same vision is true of the History and
Political Science Club.
